Stephen Taberner with Bush Gothic
Stepping Off Tiny Cliff is the concert debut of Stephen Taberner with Bush Gothic.
Stephen Taberner is leader of the world renowned Spooky Men's Chorale; a boofy, highly tuneful and gratuitously foolish male singing ensemble. He also writes songs, sings and plays a killer piano line, and for his latest batch of songs he has chosen Bush Gothic as his backing band.
A bold choice.
Known for exploding totally archaic notions of Australian folk music, this post-modern bush band are comfortable at both jazz clubs and campfires. They have presented their work with Melbourne Symphony Chamber, performed in a World Heritage listed fort in India, composed the soundtrack for an ABC TV documentary, and been invited to perform at some of the world's most prestigious festivals including Mona Foma and Womadelaide.
Together they form a formidable band of highly adventurous instrumentalists with four part singing bliss.
